August was a 90s themed month for me with parties and gigs around my city. Frente de Ira is a Venezuelan old school hardcore band that was started playing back in 2007. There have been quite a few changes when it comes to the name and band members but nowadays they are more cohesive and released an album. Not only I like their music for the sake of it, but they happen to be my friends too. With upcoming gigs in Colombia and Argentina, they decided to play in several places as some sort of farewell party and they went to my town and played in my favorite place: Living Bar.

Frente de Ira es una banda venezolana de Harcore vieja escuela que empezó a tocar en el 2007. Han habido unos cuantos cambios en lo que se refiere al nombre y a los miembros de la banda pero hoy en dia están mas cohesionados y lanzaron un album. No solo me gusta su música porque si, sino que también son mis amigos. Con tokes venideros en Colombia y Argentina, ellos decidieron tocar en varios lugar como parte de una casi fiesta de despedida -en plural- y fueron a mi ciudad y tocaron en mi lugar favorito: Living Bar

life is sweeter now...

Ive been busy so my posts have been a bit delayed. I was in the middle of the visa application process and working in two places at the same time so i havent had enough time to write and post but after all, there was a pot of gold at the of the rainbow because all my efforts were rewarded. I was chosen to study at the Katholiek Universiteit Leuven for a Advanced postgraduate degree! and after spending all my savings and dealing with all the paperwork, I GOT THE VISA! so Im going to live in sweet-chocolate filled BELGIUM!!! Cant wait.

He estado ocupada últimamente y es por eso que mis posts han estado un poco lentos. Estaba en el medio de la aplicación de la visa y encima trabajando en dos lugares al mismo tiempo así que no he tenido tiempo para escribir y postear pero después de todo, hubo oro al final del arcoiris; todos mis esfuerzos fueron reconocidos. Fui escogida para estudiar en la Katholiek Universiteit Leuven para estudios avanzados de postgrado -aca seria un doctorado- y después de haber gastado mis ahorros y luchar con los papeles, ME DIERON LA VISA! así que iré a vivir por un tiempo en la dulce y llena de chocolate BELGICA!!! no puedo esperar...

In the meantime, ill be here in Cabimas with my mom and start packing for a year -not so excited about that-. I have been seeing my friend quite a lot because Im aware that i might not see them in a looong time and going to their brithday parties is one part of my duties hehe. My friend Tatiana turned mmm i dont want to know...and we celebrated. I didnt have enough money so i baked a cake instead and gave it to her as gift! It was an oportunity to get together and catch up.

Mientras tanto, estaré aca en Cabimas con mi mama y empezare a empacar para un anio - no es que este muy emocionada al respecto, ok?-. He estado viendo a mis amigos bastante porque estoy consciente de que no los veré en un laaargo rato; asi que ir a las fiestas de cumpleanio es parte de mis deberes para con ellos jeje. Mi amiga Tatiana cumplió mmm no quiero saber cuanto..y lo celebramos. No tenia suficiente dinero para comprarle un regalo, así que le hice una torta como regalo! Fue la oportunidad perfecta para reunirme con gente que conozco desde hace mucho y ponernos al día.

I finally did it! I was afraid of the fondant dough but I took my chances and made a tiny heart shaped cake for Susana, a good friend of mine. It was her birthday and sinced it was in the middle of the week only a few of us showed up along with the kids we had fun laughing and eating cake...

Finalmente lo hice! le tenia miedo a la masa de fondant pero me arriesgue e hice una mini torta en forma de corazón para Susana, una gran amiga. Era su cumpleanios y como fue en medio de la semana, solo algunas de nosotras nos acercamos a su casa y junto con los ninos nos divertimos riéndonos y comiendo torta

PINK AND POOL - Fio's bday

It was Fiorella's birthday and we all got together to celebrate. Pink was everywhere and even though it was one of the hottest days of the year, we had fun eating jelly, sweets and cupcakes, watching the kids having fun and catchin' up.

Fue el cumple de Fiorella y nos reunimos para celebrar. El color rosado estaba en todos lados y aun cuando fue uno de los días mas calientes del anio, nos divertimos comiendo gelatina, dulces y ponquecitos, viendo a los ninos divertirse y poniéndonos al día.

Last saturday I had some friends over and we just had fun in the most unexpected way: chatting, ice tea and babies, that was it.
Two of my best friends had babies recently so both moms came to my house and exchanged experiences while the rest of us played with the babies.

El sabado pasado invite a algunos amigos a la casa y nos divertimos de la manera mas inesperada: hablando, te frio y bebes, eso fue todo.
Dos de mis mejores amigas tuvieron bebes recientemente asi que ambas vinieron a mi casa y compartieron sus experiencias mientras el resto de nosotros jugaba con los bebes.
